Mr. Alexander is a Senior Economist in the IMF’s Statistics Department. He currently works on statistical methodology issues and developing statistical guidelines. Since joining the IMF in 2001, Mr. Alexander has worked on a range of macroeconomic statistics, including balance of payments and price statistics. He is a member of the IMF Committee on Balance of Payments Statistics Task Force on the Informal Economy and the ILO Working Group for the Revision of the Statistical Standards of Informality. Prior to joining the Fund, Mr. Alexander worked as a consultant on developing estimates of the economic impact of tourism on countries.
