Sarah Sanya is an economist in the IMF’s Strategy, Policy, and Review Department. In her current role, she develops and reviews the implementation of macroeconomic policies in IMF member countries. She has worked on a diverse set of countries during her IMF career. Her publications and research interests are in the areas of post-crisis recovery, macro-financial policies and systemic risk. She worked at the World Bank from 2017-2019 as country economist for Kenya. Ms. Sanya holds an MSc and a PhD from the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom.
