Samir Jahan is a Technical Assistance Advisor in the IMF’s Fiscal Affairs Department. Prior to joining the IMF in 2020, he worked in several roles across the UK civil service, covering tax policy analysis and social security expenditure forecasting at the UK’s revenue authority, organizational and operational projects at the Department for International Trade, and fiscal forecasting and analysis of the UK’s social security system at the Office for Budget Responsibility, the UK’s independent fiscal council. He received his undergraduate education from the University of Warwick and holds a master’s degree from University College London.
