Jesus Gonzalez-GarciaJesus Gonzalez-Garcia is a senior economist in the Regional Studies Division of the  IMF's African Department. Previously, he held the same position in the IMF's Western Hemisphere Department, where he worked as desk economist for some Caribbean economies and the Dominican Republic. His research has focused on applied econometrics, the identification of regime shifts in time series models, models for inflation targeting, and the effect on exchange rate volatility of increased transparency about central bank’s reserve holdings.
