Heiko HesseHeiko Hesse is an Economist in the Monetary and Capital Markets Department at the IMF where he works on financial crisis issues and most recently on the European Union financial sector assessment and recently on the Turkish financial sector. He also covers the banking sector in the Romania program. Previous IMF assignments include a number of Middle East countries as well as the Global Financial Stability Report. Prior to the IMF, he worked for the World Bank on the Commission on Growth and Development. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Oxford and was a Visiting Scholar at Yale.
