Constant Verkoren is a financial sector expert in the Financial Crisis Preparedness and Management Division of the IMF’s Monetary and Capital Markets Department. He is working on a broad range of financial sector issues in countries that benefit from financial support and/or technical assistance provided by the IMF, with a particular focus on crisis management arrangements; bank restructuring and resolution; bank recapitalization; and financial sector safety nets. Before joining the IMF in 2010, Mr. Verkoren worked for the Dutch Central Bank, where he last held the position of Department Head in the Banking Supervision Division. He was responsible for the day-to-day supervision of one of the systemically important banks headquartered in the Netherlands, overseeing extensive restructuring efforts. Mr. Verkoren holds a Masters degree (LL.M.) from Leiden University, the Netherlands.
